Here is a company that claims to specialize in green industry sites http://greenindustrywebsites.com/. I'm not impressed with the few sites I looked at. They used small pictures you could not click on to enlarge, too small text on some, and black backgrounds with white text that just looked bad.

I tried to find the Grassperson sample company they had listed by searching for a landscaper in the towns they had listed as their service area but was never able to find them.

If you look through the archives, you'll find a post or two where I addressed a variety of things re: them (including suggestions for their own site's issues). I recall someone with the company creating an account here to weigh in or on my profile wall.

Here is another green industry company http://trustworkz.com/testimonials/. Their Atlanta lawn care sample does indeed show up on the bottom of the first page of Google but the website is very basic.

You have companies like Focal Point who target the green industry but their prices for everything I have seen are so high that I don't know how anyone can afford to use them.

Here is the website of a local company http://www.olyeller.com/. This is what I want. A template that has some flair. They use http://www.rgbinteractive.com/ as their website people, SEO, and anything else online related. They have been using them since 2004 and really like them. They are out of the Dallas area and I like dealing with people where I could run to their office and do a sit down if I needed to.

RGB didn't call or email me back. I tried to call them today from another number on their website. I could tell I was talking to someone in a call center. After doing a little research it looks like they are just reselling GoDaddy.com services.

I think it's probably a good thing you didn't have to burn any calories talking to them. I missed their link in your initial post, but it looks like you discovered one of their main issues on your own.

With a quick glance, it doesn't look like they've touched their own website in 10+ years and it seems to be an old Frontpage site, so that disqualifies them as web designers. From an SEO standpoint, they use Dallas on the page 14 times, but at the code level, just on their home page, they stuffed it in there...let's see...93 times.

The guy called me back today from RGB and left a voicemail. It sounds like a site similar to the Ol Yeller sitee would be $3000. I was browsing through hundreds of templates and found the Ol Yeller template. Here is the template they used http://templates.entheosweb.com/temp...mplateID=34627. They just customized it. I saw another template that did the black & white to color thing as well.

I still like this template and may end up using it but I want to make it even better then the Ol Yeller site. I do not like the way the Yeller site has the before and after pictures displayed in a long row with small pics. This really dumbs down the wow factor. I want the pictures displayed just a pair at a time in a larger format for a more impressive display.

Overall the Ol Yeller site is probably better then many of the others out there. I do find their lawn care tip "Trim the edges for a truly finished effect" to be a bit humorous.

"Sow your lawn using high quality lawn seed best suited to your specific lifestyle and requirements. Re-seed annually and repair bare patches as soon as they appear. Shake the box well to ensure your seeds are well mixed." I like this tip as well. I take sun and shade into account for grass but not my lifestyle. If I were gay would I have to use a different seed? I love the shake the box tip as well.

I think Ol Yeller probably does very good work but I can't help but poke fun at some of the advice. I suspect some of the info was filler added by the site developer and not Ol Yeller. You have to watch those site developers or they will often use goofy site filler since they are usually operating in a area where they have no expertise.

In case anyone wants to peek at my current site I'm going to redo it's http://www.plantscapesolutions.net/. It's amazing how many landscape company have mediocre sites with almost no content. I have more information I want to add to my site in multiple areas.

It looks like I will be using this template http://www.templatemonster.com/demo/46266.html and customize the slide show feature with this http://codecanyon.net/item/wordpress...ideshow/400161 accordion banner.

It's really hard to find a template with any zing to it to catch peoples eye and get them to stay on your site to check it out.
