Replacing coil on 31 hp kawasaki?

i think ive got it narrowed down to the coil on one side of the engine. it is burning the end off the spark plug(has happened twice) then it starts skipping. new plug then its good to go. it lasts about 10 hours in between it burning it off. is there such thing as coil sending too much fire to spark plug? any advice on how in depth it is to change?

Note: engine also "ticks" while running.

What end of the plug is burning off? No to the answer to the too much juice going to the plug.
If the plug is burning on the top(part outside engine) Look inside the boot. (Plug cover). The plug wire should have a loop at the end that wraps around the plug. Sometime this loop sneaks up the boot and instead on wrapping around the plug it just rests next to it causing arching.

A photo of the end of the plug would help. How hot is the engine running? Thinking early timing causing some heat issue. Just a stab there.
