Super Z wheel motor

I have a wheel motor that the axle broke off flush with the hub. Only a small piece of the axle in the middle was holding. The axle had been cracked for a while and maybe since it was new. Does this occur very often.

All of my field testing I've researched shows the cause of this failure is curb jumping. You may want to look at the practice used when it comes to climbing curbs. I do try to be open minded and not so blunt but I really have no other explanation than curb jumping on axle failures.
