Annual ryegrass

How soon can I cut newly seeded annual ryegrass? I seeded on Oct 5(saturday) and we've had right much rain. Not a gully washer but good steady rain on and off. I noticed last Saturday(Oct 12) that it grew overnight. Right now its about 3" maybe even 4". I was trying to give all the seeds time enough to root but thinking I may need to mow it. It does look real thin bladed right now. Not sure I remember that in the past. I've always had annual ryegrass in the back but this year did the whole yard, then spring going to go with bermuda I think. Also, I normally cut it at about 3"-4", what do you guys mow it at? (those that have it)
