hustler 275

Looked at a hustler 1989 275. Guy wants 1200.00. Can you still get parts for these. How hard would it be to get it service. 18 horse kohler has been reworked. 72 in cut. Is this machine worth it? He started it up and mowed part of his yard for me. Everything seemed to work good on it. Had some nicks and dings but that's to be expected. Didn't know how many hours it had on it. No hour meter. He bought it from some housing authority 5 years ago. Thank you.

1200 is a good price on that unit.
Yes you can still purchase parts for that unit.
The 275's were a very large part of our production for many many years, there are tons of them out there mowing everyday.

Can you give me some information at all on this unit. Specifics about it. I'm really interested in it. Do you think my local hustler dealer would service it? How long will these things hold up? Thanks for your reply!

Not to much to tell, they were great units, they had many attachments, 60 and 72 inch decks, snowblower, sweeper, catching system, edger system, cab, heater, you name it we made it over the years for that unit.
There are tons of used decks and attachments out there if you look for them, also you can find them on our classified section on www.hustlerturfequipment.com
There are people out there running these units in commercial applications still today and many homeowners using them for larger yards.
If you keep the maintenance up on the unit it should last you a while.
You will have to check with your dealer to see if he will service it, a lot of our dealers do not have any experience with these units.

275

I still run a 275 with a 72" deck and 23 horse kohler. Been running it for several years, still runs nice.

i talked to a guy from hustler. He said those had 23 horse kohlers on them and not 18. the gentleman told me it was an 18 maybe he had his wires crossed. I will check back with him. Hey mow how old is the 275 you have? Do you think this is a good deal on the mower?

Yes the 275's have 23hp Kohler cast iron K-Series engines, literally bullet proof if taken care of properly.

I just purchased a Hustler 275 with a Deutz 23 hp mower. I need to use it to power something else. Can anyone tell me how many gallons per minute hydraulic flow to expect? Serial number is missing from the mower and pump, but I have a model and serial number on the engine.

Wow, Let me ask some-one much older than me.
I'll see what the engineers tell me.

Back in the mid-evil days we did not test the pump by GPM. Our smaller pumps today pump out 8-10 GPM when our larger pumps do about 15 to 20 GPM. The 275 used different pumps. The only way to find out what that is pushing is to have a flow meter put on it. I believe you have a sunstrand 15 series pump on it. they might have that figure available for you.
