EarthWay vs Prizelawn

Here's a comparison video on their features.

Based on that video, I'd have to say the Earthway. The young man makes an error when he's comparing the hopper separation. Although the Earthway's hopper is right up against the tube frame, it is extremely unlikely that any corrosion would occur due to the stainless steel tubing. The Prizelawn probably uses a cold rolled steel tubing that has been power coated. I am not a fan of powder coating. Time and time against I see it failing and when it does, it comes off in big flakes. The frame on the Prizelawn will rust through long before the frame on the Earthway looses it's stainless steel shine.

Let me add a little too. I've seen many spreaders turn to trash and rust out. In every single case the rust has occurred either in the axle or the frame supporting the axle. This is the major weak point on the Prizelawn spreader. That area takes the most abuse. When you get done using the spreader and you rinse a spreader off the chemicals always run down over this lower section of the frame. Also when you're using the spreader the lower frame is the part that takes the most wear abuse from granular chemicals and salt (if you spread salt). This is why the Earthway will still be spreading long after the Prizelawn has turned to rust.

I only use earth way spreaders. I like them a lot and they are built fairly well.

The frame on the C22HDS is stainless steel, while the other is not.

It is identical to the C22HD except for the frame material. About $100 difference.
