I work in Portland and it's suburbs. I chose "Portland, OR" and then a 20 mile radius.

My goal is to have search visibility, both maps and organic, in as many areas as possible. Even in areas that are lower income you will find people with some money to spend. So- get as many clicks as possible and then optimize you site for the conversion. I am not trying to convert everyone, but just the right people. I get very few leads from people who can't afford what we do. I do get contacted by a lot of people afraid they can't afford us- which I think is a positive.

Thanks for the insight.

(Oddly enough, I don't show you as radius, but actually as specific cities.)

Curse G Local.... I had it one way in my Places dash, another in G+. The G+ was edited by them to specific cities. I just tried to change it, should know in 2-3 days if the edits are accepted...

I got my pin today. Verified so good to go.

Though when I type in the name of a town I want to work and is a different town where my address is I may get a dot, may not, and never get a balloon with a letter in it.

I think that is detrimental because it makes it appear that I am not interested in servicing that area. When I want work there.

When I set up I used a radius of 15 miles.

Should I do multiple zip codes? Or increase my radius?

Unless I go 4+ pages back on the list or zoom in on my location. Which people will not do when they are centered on the town that they want.

I could not edit to add this.
