What to do when this happens

I have a landlord that I mow for. It seems that every time I come there are cars parked on the lawn and junk all over the place. I cant mow due to the car mainly. My question is do I still bill the landlord the same amount each month even though I can not do 1 of his yards? Or do I deduct each time I can not do it? The landlord is aware of the problem also. My theory is that I am going to keep charging him the full amount. Any input would be appreciated!

That is what I figured. This house is in the heart of the ghetto, one of those places where you dont want to be when it gets dark.

Oh, one of those yards.

Well...
It really doesn't matter if the people are white or black, right?
It really doesn't matter if they're gay or straight, right?
Right, so it really doesn't matter if it's ghetto, car or not.

What matters is you have to know your costs, then you charge based on what it should cost.

Charge the man a fair price, if it costs the same, charge the man the same.
Careful around the car, blow off the dust after.

Mowing around a car in the lawn is an insurance liability, the landlord informs his tenants that they are not allowed to park the car on the grass, that's his job. you charge him everytime you go out there. Ask the tenants to move the car if they're home.

I had a bunch of lots I did For a landlord and I had the same problem. Glass bottles and trash al over the yard, people parked in the way, no room to park my truck and trailer and constantly having to keep an eye on all my stuff. I ended up dropping the customer because it was more of a hassle than it was worth for me.

I'd give him an estimate on widening the driveway, but I'm not mowing a yard with a car in the middle of it every time.

UPDATE! The landlord talked to the tenants and it should be all good. He even understood why I didnt deduct for the times I could not do it. He did ask why I didnt but I told him it cost me in gas and time to get over there.

We've been there before too with rental properties. Landlord knows our policy. We charge full amount for service no matter what is in the yard. In our area cars parked in the yard is illegal. Workers have a green light to blow grass on any vehicle parked in the yard when parking spots on pavement are clearly available.
