Luxor wifi by fx luminaire

What can you guys tell me about this?
Can it be used with any transformer, is there a special transformer needed for this?
What actually is needed, special fixtures?
How reliable is it?

Luxor is a proprietary control system by and for FX Luminaire LED fixtures. You can only use the Luxor transformers and you must specify the Luxor enabled LED fixtures. It is pretty trick, but comes at a cost. I still think FXL has a ways to go in terms of their LED fixture's intensity and colour output. I don't like that fact that you have to lens the fixtures to warm up the colour. When you do this, you loose a lot of intensity to internal refraction and optical inefficiencies in the lens. Also, there is an argument that it can provide the client with 'too much control', thereby taking away from the designer's original vision, although I am sure you can set up simple scenes that don't necessarily allow the client to adjust the output of each individual fixture in a zone.

Controls are the new frontier of professional outdoor lighting systems... Stay tuned for a bunch of new innovations and offerings scheduled to hit the market soon.
