My rant today is working till 6 sucks.

I didn't cut a blade of grass till after 2, I cleaned out a "rock" drainage "creek". I had to trim all the shrubs around it, get a years worth of leaves cleaned out of the whole mess, and re straw it. It took a long time but it does look real good again. Its one of the downfalls of highend properties. Not to mention theres another nother "creek" on the on the other side of the place.

I can't complain today.. almost don't want to mention it because i'll probably just jinx myself for tomorrow.. lol. but i was productive, home at a decent time, dinner with the family. tomorrow should be an easy day.

speaking of bluebird 530, mine is still in the shop. they were gonna call me when they looked at it. its been a week, thats why i hate taking it to shops. I am hoping i can make money with it in the fall. Its to hot and dry to aerate here right now anyways. Most of my customers won't water. aerator is probably better off in the shop and out of my way anyways. lol.

Hmmm, I think my HRR must have sucked up a piece of dirt that's now stuck in the jet...
Because it sputters and pops and basically farts around, if I hold my hand over the intake (which acts like a choke) it smooths out so that leads me to believe it's a fuel problem... While it does run I'm glad I swung past the house to pick up the Murray Ultra 21" that I keep for back up... Also fortunately I was able to finish the first yard with the HRR, took a bit longer but it's done and I didn't have to run to the house and then back to the same yard.

The Murray's not my favorite but still better than a half-running machine, and I am sure it was a definite advantage as I had three more yards that I needed a 21" for and every one had thick, tall grass (I'm talking double-back triple cut thick)...

So the plan is to pull off the HRR's carburetor and see if I can clean it...
That or replace it (and the gasket).

Then I'm also installing a fuel filter inline to the carburetor, I couldn't believe this when I realized the HRR has no fuel filter.

Honda 21" mower. They can be push or SP. Some have electric start.

I just bought one. Automatic choke and it starts one pull. Cuts nice and goes 4 mph.

Here is a good one, true story.

Customer calls me before I started Rd 1 apps this year. Said "why are there so damn many weeds in my lawn, when I lived in Iowa, I only had to treat the lawn once a year and it was clean all year - pure KBG lawn!" I told him I have treated his lawn for 2 seasons now - when I first started the lawn was so full of weeds and in such bad shape it was a neighborhood eyesore. I went on to say the lawn looks 100% better now, in fact the guy's neighbors have come up to my truck asking for my biz card cause they liked how I had cleaned up this guy's lawn. He kind of mumbled something, then said "OK, why don't you come out and do 3 apps this year and we'll see how that goes, but I want to see less weeds. I said fine, I will do my best job. All the while thinking 'what is he talking about, his lawn looks really good???'

The punchline.............my customer is 85 years old and self proclaimed legally blind
