Top Dress and Leveling version 2.0

Ok folks,

I am attempting to level my lawn again this year, except this time I am going to do the entire yard. Here is my plan, please let me know what you think.

What I am working with

10000 sqft of hybrid Bermuda

I am going to start the project the weekend of june 1st
.
I am going to have a buddy come by and cut and bag the lawn with his Walker at the lowest setting.

I just put my McClane reel in the shop, as soon as it gets out I am going to go over the lawn with it and cut it lower than the Walker.

Then I am going to apply fert... That's where I am confused, I have heard of people applying 46-0-0, then I have been told to apply other things. Whats your recommendation?

Then I am going to apply, spread, and drag 8 yards of what I am considering "river sand". No one down in these parts know what river sand is...

I am pretty much copying this process...

besides the aeration, I have already aerated once this year.

Please let me hear your thoughts.

I think i asked this last year but i forget what you said. How much sand are you putting down at once and how much total sand (how thick) are you going for?

The whole point of fertilizing that turf is to have it strong and growing before you topdress. Whatever product you use i would fertilize a week before you topdress. You have irrigation right? Use it.

Don't expect miracle's from one topdressing. It take's a couple of year's of repeat application's to see any difference. Make sure it get's brushed in well, that's important. Good luck.

Here's my question, is the entire lawn unlevel or certain areas. It makes no sense to me to apply sand to an area that is for the most part level.

When did you aerate last?

Entire lawn has it's bumps from the initial sod install by the builder and my mower scalps all over the place. I aerated in April.

I will. Tons.... I am not starting till the 28th. With the lack of responses I am guessing one of 2 things, either people are sick of talking about the same thing over and over on here and are just not replying, Or my plan is so perfect they have nothing to chime in about. I highly doubt the latter of the 2
