Did you let them know you provide other services? If you're asking this type of question you're not ready to jump on hardscapes or larger landscaping jobs. BTW its normal to see others on your mowing jobs. I know we do a good bit of landscape work on properties we don't mow.

I send out newsletteres every year showing our customers the services we provide, most of our customers use us for most all there outdoor stuff but occasionaly they have another outfit do something here and there, I don't take it personally anymore. I do alot of landscape work for other customers that have lawn crews.

One mistake I've made was telling someone how busy I am and rather than them asking if I'm interested in doing some extras, they just assume I'm still busy and get someone else to do the job.

I mean sometimes I'm happy because it's something bigger than I want to deal with on my own, but other times it's something I'd have been able to do if they had asked.
It doesn't happen a lot, but it does happen. You just have to communicate and have everyone on the same page to avoid it from happening.

Obviously they found somebody to do it cheaper. Lol.

Either that or you did a crappy job last time.

No other explanation.

Unless it's something basic like trimming shrubs or a small install I usually sigh with relief when a customer gets **** work done by someone else.

I just wanna ride the mower. Lol.

Ask them why they did not have you mulch this year.

I'm with lawnshark on this one. Sometimes it's a good thing, especially if your busy with your main work. Side jobs sometimes take valuable time and not a lot of profit.
