Fla. farm Statistics, worth reading.

When we think of Florida we think of Beaches and Sunshine. However Florida is a very agricultural state supplying food to the world. While this information might not help your lawn business, I hope you find it interesting and informative.

I would like to Add Florida's Cattle industry was not included in this report. However Florida was 2nd only to Texas in Cow - Calf production. Florida's year round growing season is perfect for birthing cattle but not feeding/fatting them. Young Steers are shipped North to Grain states where they are finished in Feed Lots. Right now Florida ranchers are Fat and sassy because of several years Drought in most parts of the country but not Florida. Beef on the roof is sell in the $ 2.50 a pound range and going higher. By the time it hits the super market $ 5.00 a pound hamburger meat is going to be a bargain.
