IIRC, 01's and 02's were gusseted from the factory. They stopped in 03 as a cost cutting measure.

Also, you'll want to add stainless steel brake lines, if the truck doesn't have them already. Don't wait for the factory ones to fail (because they will if it's a northern truck) go ahead and do it as a preventative measure. If you keep your current truck I'd recommend swapping brake lines if you haven't already as well.
