Governor shaft seal removal

I am trying to remove the governor shaft oil seal on a Kawasaki FH500. I believe that it is the original seal and has been there for 15 years at least.

The seal is really stuck and I have been unable to remove it. Can anyone help me with advice, tips, tool to use etc. to get that seal out.

I want to leave the shaft in place as the motor is free of leaks otherwise and I do not want to split the crankcase to get that seal out.

Anyone?

No idea what your seal looks like but I've had good luck sticking a small screwdriver into the rubber part and getting it behind the metal part of the seal and prying it out. Destroys the seal so you're committed to replacing it.
