Hello from Ga

Hello my name is Mike and I'm a newbie to the site. I've been mowing for thirteen years with a 48" walkbehind and everything else Sthil . I'm fixing to buy an Exmark laser z E series or a Scag Tiger Cat. I've taken everyones advice on here and the Demo is tomorrow for both. I am leaning towards the Exmark for quality and the price but I'm not ruling out the scag for the cutting deck.

Demo complete.
Scag was a 52" Tiger Cat w/691 Kawi motor
Exmark was 48" Lazer z S series w/651 Kawi motor w/ mulching kit on it

yards I demoed on was Bermuda, Fescue, and Fescue weed mix.

Scag: Exmark:
- cut was good in both grasses - cut was great in the bermuda and Ok in the Fescue
- Hydo's were loud - Hydro's were quiet and very smooth
- speed was good - speed was faster than scag with a smaller motor (better fuel economy)
- cutting deck wheels were ok - Deck wheels were great due to the larger size
- deck scalped the bermuda when turning -no scalping even on bumpy yard
- cleaning mower was very easy - cleaning was not so easy
- Price for 48" Tiger cat here $7,999.00 -Price for 48" Lazer Z E series $7,999.00 w/ $500.00 rebate
- duel fuel tanks - single fuel tank.

Final thoughts, I liked the scag however the Exmark was a far more superior machine (IMO) and the hydraulics were so much smoother and quieter that for me the choice will be Exmark.
