Mi Tierra

Came to Mi Tierra in SA after I was done with CEU classes and the expo for the day. This place is hard to beat. Negra Modelo and Verde pollo enchiladas. Does it get better then this?

Have you tried Cheladas (I think that's the proper name; spicy mix with beer)?
There's also some good margaritas here and there.

It's Michelada, your close. Negra Modelo is my go to Mexican beverage. The only reason I know the drink your talking about is one of my clients from Mexico owns Dos Batos restaurant in Austin on Anderson Lane near the Walmart. I had seen the Michelada on the menu.

It's one of very few places that has empanadas with fresh fruit inside not the canned stuff 99% of the other places use. Es muy bueno. I get a dozen to go every time.

I never have been a fan of Mi Tierra. So many better mexican restaurants in SA. Mi Tierra just seems like one big gimmick to me. Hardly worth the crowd. Kind of like Joe T's up here in Fort Worth.

I have only been to the place a few times. My inlaws are frugal Chicanos and they don't mind paying the $3 a plate extra to eat in that place when they are in SA. My wife is a picky Chicano as well and she was envious when I texted her a picture of the cover of the Mi Tierra menu.

What you don't see at Mi Tierra is a bunch of gringos who don't know better. The place is always packed with a lot of Latinos which is what you want to see at a Mexican place to eat.

My tortillas were amazing as was my Verde Enchilada plate. I don't have any complaints at all. I paid about $3 more for my plate then I would at my favorite place La Posada in Austin but I'm sure the rent at Mi Tierra is ten times more. I like Mi Tierra better then Pico de Gallo or the places on the River Walk I have tried. You can't beat the festive atmosphere at Mi Tierra any place in SA. It's a fun place to enjoy your meal.

If I lived in SA it would not be my regular place to eat because I'm too pinche con dinero to pay $11ish a plate on a regular basis.

If your in Austin you need to try my customers place Dos Batos. It's kind of a Taco Cabana type place but with better food.

I was in Barton Creek today which for you out of town guys is a high end neighborhood in Austin and the construction is just insane. The 1-3 Million dollar market is is just on fire. You go into a new development section and 90% of the lots are under construction. We are going to surpass the crazy days of 06' & 07' in high end construction if we haven't already. The builders who almost went broke building million dollar spec homes when 09' hit them hard are doing it again. In 09' these same builders would have told you they would never build another million dollar spec home again would would stick to custom homes where there was ink on paper before any dirt was turned.
