Replacing a gas tank on a 90 chevy k2500

I was wondering how hard it is to replace a gas tank on my k2500. Is it somthing I should have done by a machanic or could I do it by myself? I have worked on my truck before and have some mechanical skills. The reasone I am replacing it is because the top is rusted through in some spots.

Be prepared to but a new sending uni, fuel pump and fuel lines. I have never seen one come out without rust or rot. Its usually a $500 in parts deal to replace the gas tank on those.

You can do the tank without removing the bed, just easier when you do...And yep, had to buy a $340.00 set of pick up tubes when we pulled the tank...You may as well do a fuel pump while it is out....
