Changing Belt on leaf collector

How do I change the belt on my leaf collector. The belt goes from my mower deck pulley to the pulley on the collector. There is a "belt keeper" type metal piece on the back side of the pulley on the collector. There is no room for the belt to go between that metal piece & the pulley ... so do I loosen the bolt on the pulley & lift it up above the metal piece then put belt on?? Thanks

Either that or unbolt the metal strap. I usually just bend it then bend it back
