Need opinions on v6 truck

I found a 2000 chevy silverado with a 4.3 v6 in it, its a very clean truck, standard cab and 2 wheel drive, it has higher milage (97,000) but the oil is spotless no dents or rust at all, they said it was an older guys truck. its only 8500 so it seems pretty cheap and i have a 350 vortec motor that i could always toss in if needed. I was just wondering if any one used a 6 cylinder full size truck for work? A friend used to tow his 4000 lb race car with a extreme s10 and they aren't supposed to tow at all due to suspension but the engine held up fine, so I think it would work out fine, what do you guys think?

I have a 4.3 V6 in my 93 1500 4x4 and it does just fine. What may help me out and hurt you is the rear end. I have a 3.73 (automatic), I'm guessing you have a 3.55 or something like that. The V6 does just fine as far as power goes. It's not the quickest going up a hill, but it gets things done. If you're not towing a tractor you should be fine. Heck, didn't Ford run the straight 6 in 250's for a while?

Everything in the truck is the same as the 350 powered version, (except the motor, of course) so it will do everything the 350 will, just not as fast. I had a '92 K1500 with the V6 and 5 speed, and while it was not a powerhouse, it did everything I asked it to and got great mileage.
