20' Big Tex Trailer

I found a used Big Tex trailer for sale. They're asking $1,300 for it.

2001 Big Tex 20' tandem axle low deck trailer 60SP-20 6,000 lb. One owner, less than 1200 miles. Stored inside since new. Perfect for riding mowers, ATV's, dragster, or ? 5 1/2' X 20' cargo area (67"X241"), 88" outside width. 2" ball receiver tongue, 6 round pin connector, electric brakes on (1) axle, 205-75-15 tires, mounted spare, 3' stow away ramps, extra long tongue jack, break away kit with charger, 30' winch.

I will have a 48'' lazer and a 52'' lazer on it. I was thinking about putting an enclosed area up front to dump leaves, clippings etc into. Also, a rack for gas cans, blowers etc.

What do you think? My first trailer was a 6x12 single axle US Cargo. I paid $1,100 for that new. I dont' know much about these trailers and what to look for.....positives and negatives.

Thanks

That sounds like a good deal, we spent 1700 on a 7X16, made of tube steel with side gate, dovetail and recessed tail light and trailer brakes on one axle. We also installed Trimmer Trap products on it, weed eater rack, 2 blower racks, water cooler rack, line holder. Is the Big Tex made out of tube steel or angle?

Not sure if it is tube or angle. What is the difference? Which is better?

Anyone know about how much a gate costs for a trailer like this?

big tex make some nice trailers

i was going to buy a big tex but i went with a cheaper trailer

the difference between tubed and bent is this

l--------
l
l this is bent steal
l

O this is tube

when you stand on the tube it is stronger then the bent steal. so the biggest difference betwen big tex trailers is that when you stand on one end the trailer wont bent. for me it was a 400 dollar difference and i didnt think it was worth to go with the big tex. I have a 14X6.5 and i am building a dump trailer and a 18X6 utitity trailer.

I'll try to post a pic of the trailer.

I may have to go with an enclosed trailer. After putting a lot of thought into it, I may need the enclosed for security reasons. My 6x12 fits into my garage, but I won't be able to get even a 14 footer in there. I'm not about to let my equipment sit outside. So for an extra few grand, at least I will be able to sleep at night. Besides ebay, does anyone know of a good trailer site? New and Used? THanks
