AM reception...sucks!

I have a 2002 Chevy silverado and my AM reception seems to be worse than when I first got the truck. Anybody got any tips on how to improve it?

Thanks.

It's not all that practical, but a longer antenna will improve reception too.

Push the button marked "FM"
Couldn't resist it. I didn't know anyone still listened to AM. I dropped my Peltors one day, something loosened up, and I could only get AM. That lasted about a day, bought a new set. I can only take so much talk radio, and "swap shop".
