just starting,34inZTR or 44inZTR??

well im just starting out , ill be doing mostly residential and light commercial. most of the yards are 1/2 acre lots, flat, not to many ditches. ive considered a walk behind but feel ill be more productive with a ztr. ive got a little 22in honda self prop for tight areas. im looking at the gravely 34in ztr or the exmark lazer ct 44in. theres only a 500.00 dollar diff in price but i feel for what im doing the 34in will be more versitile, but i sure hate to give up 10 more in of cut for 500.00 bucks. if i getthe 34in and things grow, i can always buy bigger, but with the 44in i think itll be a hair on the big side. any suggestions??or should i start with a good w/b?? i know the w/b is cheaper, but if you could buy either (not both...i wish)what would most of you do. im wanting to get into this full time. thanks!!

All depends if you have alot of gated yards or in the future if you do, the 34" will get in most of them, but the 44'' will get in very few backyards. Just my 2 cents.

Gravely also makes a 44" ZTR that uses the same frame as the 34" machine. It just has wider deck, wider tires, and a little bigger engine.
I have used both, and I would say you will not see a lot of difference in productivity on small properties. Where size makes the difference, is where you would have a lot of wide open space to mow. Then the 10" difference would help out.

I have a 34z and love it. I also do small yards its a great if most of your yards are fairly flat.

go with neither? a zero turn of that size is a waste unless you are a big company with a lot of capital. get yourself a walkbehind to start with, you shouldn't buy a zero turn unless it's at least 48" deck or more in my opinion

well, too late. i have a little capital, but i needed a decent rider for my yard anyway. a decent lawn tractor is around 2000-2400. so spending 3999. on a smaller ztr didnt bother me. if it grows were id like i can always buy a big ztr.
