How can chevy claim they have an "alumized stainless steel exhaust system" when a magnet can be attached to any part of the exhaust system including the muffler ?

Some stainless steels are magnetic, forget exactly which....I think 400 series is, I know that 17- series and 18- series stainless steels are both magnetic.
The common 300 series (304, 316) are not magnetic.
Find out which series they are using and ask them about it.
