Attach .xls files?

Is there a reason why we can no longer attach files produced in MS Excel?

I have a spreadsheet produced in that program, comparing some equipment and would like to post it. I can probably convert it over to a Word document if I need to, but it would be easier to post in it's original format...

Thanks.

Of course if you just want to show what an Excel file looks like, you could do a screen print of it and then just attach it as a jpg file. Doesn't do a whole lot of good for people wanting to use or copy the file though...
