Excel Question

Is there a way to enter a value in a cell that has a formula attached to it WITHOUT it being part of the calculation. Say Cell A3 has the formula A1*A2 and I want to enter text into A2 and have it treat it like a zero or not recognize it all together.

Look at the attached file. From A3-A8 is a combination of numeric and text values. By using the IF function you can create another column where all text values give you a 0 value. Now you can add, multiply, or do whatever you want to with this new column. - Bruce
