You probably have it fixed by now, but just for reference, mine was also doing that a while back. I thought for sure it was the alternator. It ended up being that the fluid had so much junk in it (bad wiper seal at the top ram). When I raised the plow, the truck wouldn't even accelerate.

dfor, that is certainly something to check. That is one of those maintenance things that can easily be overlooked.
