I live in northern ohio and was wondering when would be the most productive time to go after new mowing cutomers? We have had a very hard winter this year and it's not over yet, 1-3 inches tonight and the extended forcast shows highs only in the upper 30's for the next seven days! Would I be wasting my time with mowing flyers now or not?

I don't think it would not hurt to start now. If you wait you may lose some accounts, spring is not that far away. People are starting to think spring and what to do about cutting grass. Maybe don't go crazy on the flyers, just but a few out there to see if anybody calls.

Hey ace we need it fixed right away..J/K. I would start putting ads out the last week of march through april,if you put ads out too soon people tend to be very passive towards them thus leaving you feeling crappy.but this is just IMO good luck though.

I started running , 2" x 4" ad two weeks ago, If nothing else it will get your name out there. The more people see your name the better you are. I will be placeing a few bigger ads from time to time offering deals. We've been talking to people since Mid. Feb. about accounts. Most of there were Commercial accounts, I have 4 due this week. So people are thinking spring. You need to get out and beat around. Same goes for snow removal, I will start in June setting up snow accounts. You might not get calls for a few weeks yet but you need to get your name out there..

I will start my newspaper ad on March 21st, and let it run for 2 months, maybe 3. I've started them earlier, but the response rate is really slow until about the first week of April for me.
