Too good to be true? Gravely 260M XDZ

Gravely Zero Turn 260M XDZ Zero Turn for $3,000.00
My friend found this on ebay and the guy claims it is brand new from the factory still in the crate.
The guy took it off ebay but is still up for selling it to my friend. He claims free shipping.
It seems too good to be true.
What do you think

Don't give them any money unless you can pick it up. Sounds like a scam,
simular to the one on Craigslist, with free shipping. A 260 is around $8000 if I recall, so another red flag.

I'd do some serious checking, and sure wouldn't pay for it and wait for it to be shipped, unless it is someone on Ebay with an impeccable reputation. I know deals do come along once in a while, although I never seem to run across one. I'd be asking how he came to have the machine. Might have bought it at a tax sale, part of a bankruptcy, etc., then the price might be legitimate.

It is brand new off the truck. The truck it fell off of.

But more likely it's a complete scam. It would have sold on ebay easily at that price. They may be teasing it there then removing it, hoping you'll bite off the site so you have no recourse against them.

This thing isn't that rare on ebay I've read. Some people do it over and over till the cops finally get to them.

believe me, there are ways. I bet you didn't know it but there are cops, (if you want to call them cops) that sit and read forums all day for a living just to find info or crimes! They also set up pedophiles and stuff like that.

Local law enforcement is called in all the time to bust ebay scammers. I see it on tv and read about it from time to time. There are also laws on the books about using phone lines to commit crimes, which might involve the feds. What, did you think you can just sell non-existant stuff on ebay, collect the funds, and thumb your nose at the victims? Typically it goes on because the scammers are smart enough to get paid in fashions in which they can run off with the money.

Do a search. Here is just one of many examples. The DOJ was involved in this one.
