Kubota ZD331P-60 cut quality
I am seriously considering purchasing a Kubota ZD331p-60 mower (Diesel, 31 hp, 60" cut) and was wondering if anyone can share with me what their experience has been when seeing the final cutting that this machine will produce. I will have approximately 7 acres of grass to cut per week when 2010 growing season shows up.
Thanks!

We have 3 ZD-326 machines and they produce a beautiful cut. I think the deck, etc....is the same on the 331.
We love our Kubotas and have since 1981.

i agree, however i also seem to be the only one i know(asked manytimes on here and dealer) that runs low lift stadard blades instead of the highlift that come with the mower. the cut is pretty much jsut as good, but throws it out better when real thick and tall like we had to deal with this year especially. just a thought, always good to have different blades for dif cutting conditions. i also use gators in the first cut or two and last cut or two including leaf removal/ or mulching. works great. i use the high lifts in summer when the grass is not as juicy and tall.

I so appreciate your feedback guys! After all... we're talking some major $$.$$ for me and I'm trying to have my homework complete BEFORE doing any check writing!
Presently I've been using a Hustler Super Mini-Z for about 3 acres of cutting overall. It's an "okay" machine, but just isn't beefy nuff to what soon will be me cutting nearly 7 acres. The "bad" of the Hustler was that its shallower deck can't handle my cutting of clover. About 8 times this season the engine (24 hp Honda) was killed within the blink of an eye by grass/clover bogging up inside the deck, and letting loose all at once... stalling the engine. That clover was in a separate area from my lawn itself... which it did fine on regular tall turf type fescue grass that surrounds my house. So that's a concern of mine... how will the Kubota's cutting performance perform with the clover that has so much moisture trapped within its leaves?? You mentioned gator blades... is that a stock item that Kubota will sell or did that come from another supplier?? I have a set of gators for my Hustler too... worked wonderfully well. I think the suggestion to maybe use them for the first few cuttings in the spring was an excellent one! A few extra sets of blades and a set of lights mounted up on the ROP will be about all I need to keep me rolling along... I think! Again, thanks for your input(s)!

I purchased a ZD-326 this year. The cut on flat terrain is great, but on uneven ground it can scalp and i think this is due to the deck being so heavy. Other than that i have no other complaints
