Advertising
Trying to expand my business, any ideas on best way to advertise? I was thinking of making door hanger flyers and walking nicer subdivisions. Also thinking of color ads in newspapers. Last year i did a refer a friend deal with the customers i already had. any advise on this? Has anyone had luck with any of these ideas?

How did the "refer a friend" program work? What did you offer?

refer a friend
I sent fliers to my customers in the spring saying if you can refer a friend, neighbor, or family member to my mowing service full time , you will get 1,2,3... however many free mows you want to say and i sent coupons out to them good for a free mow per coupon. Seemed to work good last year i think you get better quality customers instead of Joe blow who calls you out of the newspaper. I will definitely do it again next year. I was also thinking about doorknob hanging fliers but i dont know if that is kinda cheesy? I always throw that stuff away as soon as i get it... I am still thinking of news ways to advertise next year, any ideas would be greatly appreciated !!!

I really like the idea of the refer a friend. Can you show me exactly what you put on the card?

I wouldn't mind seeing the flier as well - if you can post it. Sounds like a great idea. I'm considering door hangers - but will likely not do it because, like you and most people, I throw them away without much consideration. The refer a friend idea sounds like the way to go for targeted neighborhoods and customers. Thanks

I just joined a BNI group in my area and it's already paying off.
