Exmark 48" TT

We just put a new engine on said mower this season. First week of use it was fine but then it started to surge when mowing normally. It has come to the point where it essentially shuts completely off and then turns itself back on. Any ideas what this could be? Thanks for your help.
Rob

It was the 481 Kawasaki. We took it to the dealer this morning. The problem has been fixed. It was an issue with the OPC switch when the new engine was installed.
