If you want to have long term success, then each page should be different. You can do a page for each desired city that lists all the services you offer, or do a page for each city+service. The more granular you get, the more traffic you are likely to get.

This is something I've been thinking about a lot lately when trying to add more content.

Sometimes I will ignore the first few results above the 7 pack when searching for something. I guess I'm just used to seeing a national provider or some directory there. Almost always I will go to the first one after the 7 pack.

Do you find that true for a lot of people?

I've been meaning to answer this. I'm not a web guy, just some idiot POS that put up 5 websites.. But this is what i noticed. One site i have that seems to stay just below the 7 pack hardly gets me any calls. And its a well populated city. All the cities i rank above the 7 pack for i am getting many calls a day from those. I get the most from the site that ranks in the A position on the 7 pack. i notice when i look for stuff i end up looking in the 7 pack first. so hmm. i dunno. not an expert opinion or anything.. just my observation. These exact name domain sites have really paid off for me though.

It seems a few websites are ranking very high lately in my area with very little content. How can this be? They don't seem to have any links coming in, so I ruled that out. I was thinking of changing my domain name over to one that I already own(which ranks higher as it is live), how will this affect my visibility?
