Footings from Hell

So I was back out at a subdivision it looks like I'm going to be doing at of footing in now. Bad soil... very bad. somehow this has been and old fill site many, many years ago. Trying to dig 18"wide footings 10' deep it a touch hard. I put in almost 220 tons of wash stone to get them back to grade... this is a 40x40' house.

I cringed when I saw the video, you'd think there would be a soils engineer who would have checked a bit better. Now what are the chances that the other home owners are wondering what's under their foundations?

Always always always exclude excavation of unsuitable soil, and provide a unit price for excavating and replacing with stone.

put a full size exc on it. Pour a 24" spread if you can pi$$ on it for a 20 second duration and it bores more then 1" deep hole. If urine does not excavate 1" hole in equal to or less then 20 sec you are on 4,000psi soil and thus poor a 12" footing. Set panels after a engineers urine test has been performed. Easy.

What footings? Looks more like a trench pour.
In NY you would first need at least a 10"x24" footer at the bottom. Then you pour the wall.
