Worldlawn? Are they worth it?

I saw these mowers online once and thought mmm.. those look pretty tough. They are also cheaper than other commercial mowers. Yet I have not heard a definite answer if they are good machines or not. I mow about 25-30 hours a week. I have some steep hills were I work, otherwise its flat. Does any one have experience with these machines? Will they hold up to light commercial use? Or is it better to get a Exmark or Toro?

Where are the popcorn smileys when you need them? Seriously, though there is a long thread on this from a couple days ago. The general consensus seems to be buy a well known USA made brand with good dealer support, unless you're feeling lucky.

My dealer pushes them...HARD. I took one look and said no thanks. They just don't look commercial grade

Buttery Company- The local distributor brought one by for us to look at to sale. My first question upon looking at their website was "are they made in the USA"...the rep said "yes". So we took one out and tested the one with a 60'' deck and the Kawasaki 26hp. I couldn't find one thing I didn't like about the mower- It cut well, handled well, and looked well constructed and easy to work on. They are pretty much a earlier Exmark copy. The price was the most appealing factor. But after it was all said and done. The rep finally admitted that the mowers were in fact built in Betriec Nebraska. Along with the encore mowers. But the facility was owned and opperated by a CHINESE company and that the frames and decks were assembeld in china out of china metal ( which is a big big key factor cause the metal quality isn't near the quality of USA steel). That instantly made my decision to NOT sale the machines. The one thing I tought in my store more than anything is that I sale no products that is chinese made or has chinese materials ( which is getting harder to say every day) Save your money and buy a American made machine and support our economy. If you cant afford a quality brand like scag, ferris, exmark, bob cat etc etc... buy used or something. Just support our country!

I own the 36 walk behind. I have about 100 hours on mine and I have had 0 problems. Cuts nice and works well.

Full Disclosure before responding: I don't currently own a large commercial unit, so I do not have experience with any of these mowers.

I have however done as much reading on several websites as I possibly can about various brands and sizes. The consensus from those who have ACTUALLY owned and operated these units is that they are solid, dependable units. You have to parse through several negative from people who have never used them, but once you do that, it seems that they make a good product for someone operating on a tight budget like me.

However, one thing I consider a negative is LESS dealer support. Consider the distance you'll have to drive to get to that dealer.

Also, since I am in the market for a good 32 inch, the ground speed of the WorldLawn 32 is negative. They also seem somewhat underpowered compared to other 32 in mowers such as Gravely and Bobcat.

So, that's my two cents.

Something to consider is cut quality. I cant imagine these chinese companies putting in the R&D needed to produce a deck that performs well in a variety of conditions. Some of the best US mowers dont even have the best cut quality in all conditions. Im very picky and have to cut in wet conditions. I hate clumps and double cutting. Time and quality is money in this business. Its cutthroat out there and I believe its the little things that make the difference. I would recommend buying a nice used commercial mower that you know can perform.
