yah sounds like a good setup, my old boss runs a similar setup, 2 72's and a 2 52" hydro walk behinds. very productive. i plan to eventually switch to a 72 and a 52 maybe 2 of each if take on bigger commercial properties.

For one thing, it eliminates having stripes of two different widths. I can be mowing a section of the lawn, then have my wife take over while I do the trimming, etc. It can save a tremendous amount of time on larger properties with minimal trimming, several of which I service. For example, one large property I have takes approximately 80-90 minutes of mowing (60 inch Z's), but only about 15 minutes of hand work. With one mower, someone would be doing a lot of thumb-twiddling, if it was a two man crew.
Two identical mowers don't always help... Some people just don't get the idea of not overlapping.... Then wonder why they are relegated to permanent trimming duties... SMH haha

Time is money
You have to spend money to make money
I ran 2 50'' mowers from 85 to 92
Then ran 2 50'' and 1 60'' from 92 to 95
Then ran 2 crews 50'' crew and 60'' crew from 95 to 2001
Then I drop the50'' crew cuz the 60'' crew was doing more work
From 2001 I run a 3 man crew running 3 60'' mowers
Then in 06 bought my first 72'' then bought a 72'' in 2010 and a 2011 this spring
My work load went from 10acres biggest lawn to 60 acres last yr and now up to 100 acres this yr
and I can run up to 8 mowers if I get behind My landscape crew will mow
My mowing crew is a 3 man crew now someday run 3 60' some days run 1 60'' and 2 72''
