Between yard work, hunting, playing sports on a grass field, climbing and pruning trees and owning dogs, I'm surrounded by ticks. I don't get bitten often due to a constant check of myself in the shower. If I do get bitten, I'm one of the wierd ones that doesn't get the symptoms till after I get the antibiotics. If you get bit, note the spot and look for a continued sore which may or may not turn into a rash. If it dries up in a couple of days, you'll be fine. If it persists, get to a doctor and due the full test of the 5 different diseass associated with a tick bite. Normally, if two show positive, you'll be considered as having lyme and will begin the antibiotics. Everyone is different and lyme effects everyone differently. Some have long effects, some have short term effects with no following troubles. Just beware that they are out there everywhere and you need to be diligent in checking. Bug spray with DEET helps too.
