The metal frame was sprayed with Krylon gloss black.

The bare wood on the inside? Krylon flat black spray paint. Something rolled on would probably be cheaper.

The paint on the metal held up longer.
The paint on the wood has faded.
The stain on the outside is beginning to fade a bit.

I did the refurb mid 2010, so about as expected.
The first two winters I covered the entire trailer with a tarp and I think that helped extend the life of the paint/stain, but it was a PITA to cover it without the corners poking holes, so I stopped covering it.

Now I want to go refinish my trailer again.

Heh. That would probably work well for my "removable" sides I mentioned for a future trailer.

Glad you posted a pic because I couldn't picture the whole "2x4" method being discussed. Looks simple enough to do.

Yes, it was very simple to do, only took about an hour. And turned out very sturdy. Should work great.
