Yes, you have to want to be willing to work, but a customer also must want the work done.

From what I witnessed, I would say the guy was making small talk with someone and didn't really want to pay anyone to do it. My father in law told me the last time he had it cut (about "a month ago") he rented a X-mark zero turn and a trailer to haul it on from a rental place...costing him over $220 by the time he rented both for the day. I wasn't there nor do I know the details...but unless things were really bad and/or misrepresented, I certainly would do it for less than that.
What it cost, $220 in rental fees and road time and gas for his tow vehicle & mower and time it took to mow, makes my price of $258 a fair price.

i just bid a 2.7 ac residential. it was dead flat 6-8" of growth almost no obstructions. and guy wanted it bagged and dumped on site. i told him $275. and he gave the green light. it shouldnt be more than 2.5 hrs to mow.

price is a little low but its for my mothers friend so i gave her a better deal
