Time to replace HRC216 with an Exmark. Model suggestions?
So we're finally getting to that point where our Honda HRC216 (K1HXA) needs to be replaced with another 21. We've got our eyes set on Exmark as far as brands go, but not sure which model to go with. I'm looking for recommendations on this since I'm not highly familiar with their current lineup.
Some things to consider: -I bag clippings at all my accounts, so I'm not necessarily looking for something that stands out as "great for mulching". -It'd be used as our primary mower for every account (approximately 50 accounts per week). Not just used as a trim mower. -I'd prefer something that's hydrostatic, but not sure if that'd be an option or not. I tried looking it up on Google, but didn't see anything.

The x series is the top of the line in this case. It has been known to mulch well with stock blades but only fill the bag half way. So you would want to invest in a blade of other kind. Are your yards big enough to support the Metro 26? I have tried one out and really liked it, but didn't bother buying it as I only need it to trim. Good luck

I have a x series mulching they suck. Bagging it fills my bags every time. No hydrostatic but none the less a great mower that's easy to work on. Get the Kawasaki you won't regret it

Has anyone had a chance to compare the new Exmark 21" mower with the Toro Proline 21" Mower?

We have 4 of the x series, all less than 2 years old. Good mowers, bag great- even wet grass and leaves. There are less parts, and they cost less, than the toro proline.

Thanks for the reply. How is the transmission on the x series. I know it has the 1 speed vs the 3 speed on the toro proline. Is it strong enough compared the 3 speed on the toro?

I am not sure how "strong" it is, I am not an equipment geek and I don't do any repairs myself. I can say it is very fast, it will yank your arms out of there socket if you aren't ready. They certainly have no issues with hills.
According to my dealer the transmission costs about the half the price of the toro, if it ever has to be replaced. But mine have had zero transmission issues so far. Posted via Mobile Device |

If you get one, make sure the cables are not kinked towards the bottom before they go to thier destination. Mine had a link and finally broke on the hilliest properties. These things are heavy to push. My back is still sore. Posted via Mobile Device |
