I have used an HRX for a couple of years. Striping is the least of my concerns about the mower. It leaves a very smooth cut, bags well, and does a good job of mulching. This is all I want in a hand mower.

Any stripes are highly dependent on the lawn being cut (just like any other mower). Some lawns that are well kept end up with a pretty good stripe, others not any at all. Poorly kept lawns leave no stripe, but it does not matter anyway.

Stripes are a fascination of some LCOs, but never seems to be of interest to the homeowners.
