I rent a classen stand-air SA-25. It's a stand on hydro drive unit. I did about 30 acres in 4 days with it. It's deffinetly the lazy mans aerator but it still beat the hell out of me.

How much do they charge for the rental? I got this one at Grand Rental Station near me

The place I rent from is a dealer and they charge $150 a day. It's well worth the money. You will never use a walk behind aerator again.

Why so late in the season? I always thought, at least for southern grasses, it was done in spring through summer. That's how I do my own yard, but afterwards top dress with 2 year leaf mold compost.
