Push rod fell into engine block stihl 4 mix

Basically I go to start my edger and it won't start. I check my valves and find that the rod furthest away from the carb is missing. I pull the block cover off on the end of the cam and find the rod is in there loose with the cam. The rod isn't bent. The valve isn't stuck, I pulled the cord and it was fluttering normally. The valves did need some minor tweaking, they were a tad bit loose. I just don't know how to attach the rod back to the rocker. Anybody know?

Not sure if the interpretation of the malfunction is correct but assuming I read what you say I would try turning the engine upside down to coax it to fall out, maybe tap the engine lightly if it needs a little assistance, beyond that you may have to try and fish it out with tweezers, not sure...

Then you will likely have to remove the rocker arm, install the push rod, re-install the rocker arm.

That's what I think would be the correct procedure, but again I'm not sure if that's really the problem here, if the valves are fluttering correctly it would seem the push rods are in place?

I had one of mine do that, I just put it back on and adjusted the valves and it ran again, nothing holds it on.
