I disagree. charging extra implies there is a standard charge for cutting grass and anything beyond that is extra.

Price to edge, mow, blow, go, standard price.

Established customer:

One week customer wants tree trimmed, or a bed weeded. That will cost her extra because it is not covered in the EMB & G.

New Customer:

With over grown lawn wants you to EMB & G. Extra time is needed due to extra work to bring the lawn back into shape so the customer has to be charged extra for that first mow.

Then the following weekly mows will be charged at the normal/standard rate for her property.

Yes there is a standard rate to mow every lawn under normal conditions, meaning currently being maintained. Standard rates can vary, to mow a 1/4 acre LCO1 $30, LCO $40, LCO $50. But each LCO has a standard rate.

When seeking more money to mow a lawn because more time, effort, and extra wear and tear on equipment, one is justified.

It does not matter the adjective used. The same out come is achieved.

we are gonna have to agree to disagree because I don't see it that way at all. in my business there is no standard.

when people call wanting a price over the phone and I won't give it they press for me an average or standard price. I simply reply I will have to see it. it all depends on the condition of the lawn.

I've got 1/4 acre lots with all kinds of prices. not every 1/4 acre lot is the same weekly price in my business and some are even right next to each other.

I charge premium price on any overgrown property! If double cutting is required that's another charge this business isn't charity.
