Go union and be done with it. You're going to travel for the work, might as well get a decent wage while you're on the road. I don't want to start a big union thing on here, but I went union 6 years ago and it was the best move I ever made. I understand in the Southern US there isn't much union presence, but if you're going to travel, might as well make it worth your while. No BS on the $150K a year, either. I'd go out and pipeline if I wasn't tied to a house and another piece of ground here in WA state, it looks like a complete riot and I'm sure it would be fun as hell. But it doesn't make much sense for me to travel when I'll knock down well over 6 figures and stay close to home anyway.

I am not trying to get on pipeline work here. It's very limited. I've got to go out of state to really do what I want.
