Dolomitic lime vs sol u cal rates

Over the past few years I have used sol u cal at 6-7 lbs per k for maintenance pH in my fescue lawns. These laws get it every summer.

I use dolomitic lime to correct major pH problems.

What is the rate of dolomitic for maintaining pH? Slightly raising it?

Just curious what my price difference would be between the two products. It is my understanding dolomitic is better for long term pH stability.

Only use dolomitic if you need the magnesium. If your not careful you will mess up the calcium/magnesium ratio.

When that ratio goes off, possible consequences include sticky, compacted soil. For maintenance of pH, 10 lb of calcium lime is a good place to start. Although a soil test will give a number better than my good place to start. Actually, I like soil pH to be 6.5. At that number, micronutrients are available.

Thanks I was trying to evaluate the cost

Dolimitic lime at 10lbs per k and 4.50 per 40lb bag =$1.13 per k of product
Sol u cal at 7lbs per k and $16 per 50 lb bag = $2.24 per k of product

So you would really need to make up the price difference in labor. I have a 200lb hopper so I could do 20 k lawns which is higher than my average lawn. So very few trips back to the truck to refill
