I think it would depend. That Propane Taxi is barely more than swapping a tank out at one of those cage places at the box stores, and some how they're making it work. Not unless there's a lot more margin in propane than gas?

If she isn't driving any longer, she needs other supplies for the house, such as groceries. How is she getting these supplies? Whoever is doing this task should be able to accommodate the gasoline as well. In other words, somebody is coming and going from her house to an area what would have gasoline. Why not use that person?

Or, what other supplies are being parted out to a variety of people?

Here's what I did. My 82 year old grandmother refuses to let me or anyone mow her 2 acre lawn, but she always needed help with gassing up. I bought her a 25 Gallon Fuel Caddy from Northern Tool. It works off gravity, I mounted on barn wall and installed a secondary ball valve from tank for extra saftey. She simply pulls up to barn and fills up. Heaviest thing she has to lift is the 1/2 hose. When she gets low on gas, I fill up my 5 gallon cans and make her a delivery. I always add the appropriate amount of Stabile Marine to keep the gas fresh. This has worked well for her and I both for over 3 years.

I think its $20 or more to do the exchange at gas stations and such. I get my tanks refilled for $10 at a propane distributor. My refilled tank definitely weighs more than a exchanged tank as well.

There has to be some good margin for the exchange places.
