My Grt Uncle just retired last year at 80yrs old with only 5 accts. He always told me when ur not active you go down hill. So he stayed at it as long as he could with just a few accts to keep him active. He tried to start up the season last year but gave me his accts a few months in.
I worked for him from '93-'99 then got into comercial painting/caulking (better money)for 12yrs on the road in hotels Mon-Fri. Quit that job & started my LCO cuz I was done traveling & loved my landscape job. Well I did not plan ahead & went back on the road for abt 1yr doin my lawns on the weekends, then quit again got a job at local caulking place. Now in my 3rd season, I have found this site & wonderful advice from the great LCO's here, I'm gonna take a crack at fulltime again next spring with plenty of planning & advertising. I make 1/2 of my weekly caulking pay in 1 day of mowing my lawns on average. Good Luck! Wish you the best! Posted via Mobile Device |

I was offered a extra 5 years to my age and 5 years of service (5&5) giving me a 80% pension. For the past 10 years I have grow and fare exceeded what i had planed to accomplish.
Mowing 20 accounts, helping a farmer some, my pension, the wife still working, the house about payed for. I call myself the luckiest guy I know. Good luck to you. |
