I'm observing an interesting trend amongst threads here in the last few years. Numerous young guys don't seem to have much ability to communicate calmly with customers as human beings and handle situations where the parties disagree.

They then come here to vent about it and gather opinions on what they should do, when all they really have to do is simply speak with the customer, assess the situation, and if the customer can't be reasonable, realize that things are not going to work out anyway and move on.

I have to believe it's due to growing up in the computer/internet world, where nobody really talks, and often exchanges are of the "F you!" variety if you so much as get annoyed at someone. So, they are intimidated by real social contact where the consequences actually matter.

Your best asset in business is the relationships and trust you build with customers. If they trust you and you do good work, you are simply not going to have this sort of problem come up.

This is true, and most of the things guys come and vent about work themselves out where all parties are happy in the end.

This makes no sense, your customer is bald face lying to you.
Call them and tell them they are done since you are getting blamed for something you did not do.
