Locators are tools and without knowledge, experience and perfect practice the average person will not become good, just lucky.

Practice and excessive cursing.

I get lucky a few times a week, but that has nothing to do with locating wires.

Did a redesign job yesterday, and we called for locates 11 days prior. Nothing at all was marked. Called them back up, and they said that all the companies for locating stated there was no such address. B******t. I was standing at the mailbox with the correct address, as it is right on the street. She had the correct address in the records. I had gotten locates there 2 years ago for other work. I don't know how all three entities could say there was no such address, and I never received a call or email saying otherwise.

So I told her we needed it NOW, and she replied it would be two days. Oh well, we are digging as I'm talking to her. I was ok with it as it was hand digging. Cut the cable twice, which I fixed. But I had loaned out my 521 last week to another company, otherwise I would have located at least cable, as that is the main thing we find while hand digging.

I was not very happy. I did my job by calling, don't know why they can't do theirs. I told her 730 was right in between 726, and 734. Across from 731. Please put that in your notes.
